Seven Practical AI Search Visibility Tests

No checklist can ensure a higher position or recommendation in an assistant. These seven tests improve the quality and measurability of public information without claiming knowledge of platform internals.

    Tests 1–2: access and identity

    • Fetch each priority URL as an unauthenticated visitor and verify the intended text, status, canonical, and links.
    • Compare the organization, product, people, location, and policy facts across first-party pages; correct contradictions and date volatile facts.

    Tests 3–4: questions and evidence

    • Give each page a documented audience question and check whether the answer, scope, and limitation are easy to find.
    • Audit consequential claims line by line; link external facts to primary sources and keep internal evidence with an owner and review date.

    Tests 5–6: comparison and observation

    • Make comparisons explicit about criteria, date, commercial interests, and missing evidence.
    • Run a fixed prompt sample and retain complete responses, settings, dates, links, and coding rules.

    Test 7: maintenance

Assign owners and review dates to product facts, prices, screenshots, source links, and structured data. Record substantive revisions. Do not change a date merely to imply freshness.

    Limits and next step

Run one test at a time where possible. Better pages may still not appear in a sampled response, and a changed response does not by itself prove which edit caused it.

    Need a scoped evidence review?

Discuss the questions, public pages, collection method, deliverables, and limitations before deciding whether a project is appropriate.
